Vivo V11 Pro Review: It’s Got All The Tech You Need

VIVO’S MID-END smartphone the X21 was not even that old in the market and the company has come out with their new offering, the Vivo V11 Pro, which takes a lot of positives from their flagship phone the Vivo NEX as well as the X21.

The Chinese smartphone maker launched the Vivo V11 Pro in India and has priced it at ₹25,990. We have been using this device for a while now and this is what we think about it.

Design & Display

In terms of design, the Vivo V11 pro looks quite similar to Vivo’s design lines seen in 2018, but there is a new starry night colour that the effect of a shiny crystal ball to the body.

This is a phone that competes directly with the recently launched Oppo F9 Pro. In terms of build quality, the V11 Pro has a premium appeal to it.

The lines are clean and you don’t find any jagged edges that will be an eyesore for you.

The back of the device also has an iPhone X-like, vertical dual-camera placement that looks very similar to the one that you see on the Vivo NEX. With the new starry night colour and a good build quality, the Vivo V11 Pro has premium written all over it.

The Vivo V11 comes with a 6.41-inch Fullview 3.0 display which is an AMOLED FHD+ display with a tiny notch that houses just the front camera.

The aspect ratio on offer is 19:5:9. The earpiece is neatly integrated on the bezel of the device and you won’t even notice it unless you look very carefully.

There is an in-display fingerprint sensor on this phone which was first seen with Vivo’s X21. It also has the option of face unlock as the front camera is housed in the top notch.

In terms of the real estate, the V11 Pro is a device that will be loved by folks who love to game and also stream content from Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Specifications and Performance

When it comes to multitasking or gaming, the V11 Pro is a very potent smartphone. It does, however, get a little warm if you game on it for long durations.

This is mainly due to Vivo’s own Funtouch OS 4.5 that runs on Android Oreo operating system. The Vivo V11 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 660 AIE octa-core SoC that is backed by 6GB of RAM.

It has enough firepower to operate the device seamlessly. The storage on offer is 64 GB which is expandable and it offers dual-SIM 4G connectivity as well.

Interestingly enough the slot tray used by Vivo is not a hybrid and you get two SIM card slots and a separate microSD card slot for storage expansion.

For gaming, the Vivo V11 Pro is a device that will not disappoint you at all, in fact, heavy graphic-oriented games like PUBG and Asphalt work without any frame drops or throttling of the CPU.

That makes this device quite a stable one for gaming. Vivo has also put in a Bike mode on the V11 pro which restricts the usage of phone and its notifications when you are riding a bike.

There is also an integrated Kids mode in which users can choose the apps that they want their kids to access on their phone.

The Vivo V11 Pro just like almost every other phone in 2018 comes with a dual-camera setup. There is a 12MP + 5MP dual camera module that gives up to 24 million photographic units to make images detailed and crisp.

This is also possible as Vivo has integrated a dual-pixel technology very similar to the one you see on Samsung Galaxy flagships. The image quality is quite crisp and even low light photographs offer a good amount of details.

The Vivo V11 Pro camera also comes inbuilt with a Google Lens icon, through which you can discover information about things around you just by pointing the camera at it.

Other features include Panorama, AI Face Beauty, Photo, Video recording up to 1080p and AR Stickers.

There is also a professional mode on offer where the user can manually adjust exposure, ISO, Shutter Speed, White balance and Focus points as per their liking.

The V11 Pro also capable of clicking live photos as well as bokeh images. Images sizes come in aspect ratios of 4:3, 19:5:9, 16:9 and 1:1.

In terms of the selfie camera on the V11 Pro, there is a huge 25 MP camera module that is amazing when it comes to clicking selfies.

The front camera is also AI-enabled for object and scene recognition, something that’s offered on almost all phone front cameras in this price range.

The Vivo V11 Pro comes loaded with a 3,400 mAh battery that also offers dual-engine fast charging support. The battery management on the V11 Pro is quite optimised to cater to the needs of all sorts of users.

The 3,400 mAh battery is also capable of lasting you easily a day if you are a power user and would last you even longer if you are a light user.

Vivo V11 Pro is a device that offers an optimised smartphone experience. This is also a device that showcases its prowess purely on a good software hardware marriage.

At nearly this price point one may argue that the Poco F1 gives you a Qualcomm 845 Processor, but then it does not offer a software experience or technologies like an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Also, with better cameras, bigger display, a Qualcomm processor (not a MediaTek) and a colour option that’s not Red; Vivo V11 is definitely a better performing device over the Oppo F9 Pro as well in our books.

We would say that if you need a great looking performance device with amazing image taking capabilities, you really can’t give the Vivo V11 Pro a miss.
