Steve Smith Says “It’s Time to Get Back Into It” Ex-Oz skipper announced his return to Australia, saying he had a lot to do to earn back his fans' trust

FORMER AUSTRALIAN captain Steve Smith, who is serving a 12-month ban for his involvement in a ball-tampering case during the recent South Africa series, is back in Australia after time overseas.

Smith posted on Instagram Friday announcing his return and that “it’s time to get back into it.”

This isn’t the first time Smith has expressed remorse over the ball-tampering allegations. “I would give anything to have this behind me and be back representing my country,” Smith had tweeted in April.

Smith and David Warner were banned from playing for 12 months after the ball-tampering incident during the third test in South Africa. Warner was stripped off his vice-captaincy. However, opener Cameron Bancroft was let off with a nine-month suspension.
