International Yoga Day: The World Celebrates With India The 4th International Yoga Day was celebrated with yoga sessions held across the world

THE Fourth edition of the International Yoga Day was celebrated across India and in many parts of the world with events holding Yoga and meditation sessions.

June 21 was declared as the International Day of Yoga in 2014 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a day to be adopted to celebrate the ancient practice of Yoga globally.

In Delhi, Yoga Day was celebrated with sessions at Raj Path, Red Fort, and at many public parks and offices. At Rashtrapati Bhavan, more than 500 officers and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan and their family members participated in an event.

PM Modi, a keen practitioner of Yoga, participated in the Yoga Day celebrations held at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun.

“The way to lead a calm, creative and content life is Yoga. It can show the way in defeating tensions and mindless anxiety,” he said in his speech.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu participated in the celebrations at an event in Mumbai. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
