Having a baby can be the most amazing thing ever. And the most stressful. It’s hard work and sometimes can be downright upsetting. That’s “the baby blues” and just because you experience it doesn’t mean you’re a bad mother. But left untreated it can descend into a deeper shade of blue – postpartum depression (PPD) – something 22 percent of Indian women experience even though they rarely talk about it.
