THE MET GALA, a benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York, has always been known for its most outlandish, often stunning and over-the-top sartorial choices of its red carpet walkers.

And the 2018 version of fashion’s biggest extravaganza certainly had it all. The theme for this year was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”

The “Oscars of the east coast” is held every year on the first Monday of May. The hosts this year were Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace, Rihanna, Stephen and Christine Schwarzman and Anna Wintour.

And in keeping with the theme, many celebrities were spotted flirting with Pope-inspired dresses and accessories. Holy chic and divine dressing coming together for a noble cause.

India’s presence was marked by Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, who looked resplendent in their respective dresses. This was their second outing at the gala.

And, Tesla founder Elon Musk joined the party by making public his relationship with musician Grimes at the event.
