Karnataka Poll: Supreme Court Orders Floor Test on Saturday The pro tem speaker will conduct the vote of confidence at 4 pm

@otuslive

INDIA’s top court has ordered Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa to take the floor test in the Karnataka assembly tomorrow and seek a vote of confidence.

The Supreme Court order came after a hearing on a petition filed by the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) alliance which argued that they should have been called first by the governor to form the government as together they had the majority in the house.

The three-judge bench also said that the chief minister cannot take any major policy decisions, the pro tem speaker will preside, no secret ballot and also ruled against the nomination of the Anglo-Indian member.

The bench also said that hearing will continue on the larger question of governor’s decision.
