A SMALL chartered plane crashed into a construction site in a densely populated residential area of Ghatkopar in Mumbai killing 5, including 4 on board and one on the ground.

The plane, a Beechcraft King Air C90 turboprop aircraft, was on a test flight and had taken off from the Juhu airport. It crashed in an open area near an under-construction building in Ghatkopar when it was coming into land.

There was some confusion on the ownership of the plane as the aircraft’s tail had the logo of the Uttar Pradesh government. But it was later clarified that the plane belonged to a Mumbai-based aviation company.

Fire brigade personnel and first responders were at the scene. First pictures and visuals from the scene showed debris scattered near an under construction building and close to a residential tower.
