Army Chief Visits Slain Rifleman Aurangzeb’s Family General Bipin Rawat met the family of the deceased soldier at their residence in Jammu and Kashmir

INDIAN Army Chief General Bipin Rawat met with the family of Rifleman Aurangzeb who was abducted and killed by militants in Pulwama last week.

General Rawat met the family of the deceased soldier at his residence in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch.

Aurangzeb was abducted from Pulwama by militants when he was going home to his family to celebrate Eid and his body was discovered on June 14.

Earlier, Aurangzeb’s family had made an appeal to the government saying it not only wants justice for their son but peace in their home state of Jammu and Kashmir.

“I give PM Modi 72 hours to avenge my son’s death or else we are ready to take revenge on our own. Kashmir is ours. We must not let Kashmir burn.” Aurangzeb’s father Mohammad Haneef, who was also a sepoy in the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, told news agency PTI.

Despite his brother’s killing, his younger brother Aasim wants to join the Army. Aurangzeb belonged to 44 Rashtriya Rifles and was posted in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
