Volvo XC40 Gets 200 Orders Within a Fortnight of Its Launch in India The Volvo XC40's price starts at Rs 39.9 lakh ex-showroom in India


Volvo Car India this week confirmed bookings for the first 200 compact Luxury SUV XC40 R-Design in India that’s now priced at Rs 42.9 lakhs ex-showroom.

The 200 order for the Scandinavian luxury car maker’s XC40 comes within a fortnight of launch in India.

The Volvo XC40’s other models are now up for bookings in India at a special introductory price offer of Rs 39.9 lakhs for the XC40 D4 Momentum model and XC40 D4 Inscription priced at Rs 43.9 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

The new XC40 comes with Volvo’s signature Thor’s hammer headlamps, a unique tail-lamp cluster and a sculpted exterior in 2-tone colour.  The interiors have black leather and lava orange faux-wool tones along with a 9-inch touchscreen display.

The XC40 is also the only car in its segment to have radar-based Active Safety features like City Safety with Steering Assist, active at speeds up to 50 km/hit avoids a collision from other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and large animals.

Other features include Adaptive Cruise Control that lets the XC40 maintain a safe distance on highways, and On-coming lane Mitigation, Driver Alerts, Run-off-Road protection and roll stability control adds to the further safety standards of this car.

The XC40 is available in the R-Design trim with a 2L 4-Cylinder Twin-Turbo D4 diesel variant producing 190hp and 400Nm of peak Torque.

The powertrain is mated with an 8-Speed Geartronic gearbox and Haldex AWD with different drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Dynamic, Off-Road and Individual modes.

The new Volvo XC40 also comes loaded with a Harmon/Kardon 13-speakers 600W surround system along with leather seats as standard.

Volvo Cars India recently recorded the best ever H1 with 33% growth in volumes in Jan-June 2018 versus last year.

The sales performance of 1242 units is spearheaded by the XC60 contributed 25% of the total volume for the company.
