Harry Drove Meghan in Tata Motors’ Jaguar E-Type to Reception The vintage car in silver blue sported their wedding date on the number plate

THE ROYAL wedding had its special moments but the car the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, chose to drive to their reception stood out for its style and the modern twist, much like their wedding ceremony.

Prince Harry drove his new bride Meghan in the open-top Jaguar E-Type Concept Zero, a quintessential British classic made modern by Jaguar Land Rover. The royal touch: the car sported their wedding date, E190518, on the number plate.

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar began converting the E-Type, described as ‘the most beautiful car ever made by Enzo Ferrari’, by fitting them with a zero-emission electric powertrain and making them available for the ‘increasingly environment-conscious age’.

The E-Type Concept Zero retains the classic look, handling and the performance of the original model and promises to bring back the ‘glamour and excitement of the swinging 60s’ to this digital age.

The vintage car in silver blue looked resplendent and basked in the glory of the royal couple driving down to their evening reception from Windsor castle to the nearby Frogmore House.

The royal family has had a special fondness for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s choice of the Concept Zero for their special drive is seen as an endorsement for ‘cool’ electric cars.
