Hyundai Santro A2H Unveiled Hyundai has relaunched the Santro with bookings starting mid October


HYUNDAI has been in India for 20 years now and the one car consistently been synonymous with the Korean carmaker is the Santro.

Known for its tall boy stance and charm like Shah Rukh Khan, the Santro is back and in a bold new avatar. Hyundai did a namkaran for the 2018 tall boy entry-level car in India and it was no surprise that the country named it the Santro.

Santro was unveiled in September 1998 with Euro-II compliance and MPFI (multi point fuel injection) when most of the car manufacturers were still producing carburettor-based engines.

Keeping the 20 years of the company in mind and new age dynamics, Hyundai finally showcased the new Santro or the AH2 at their Chennai plant for an exclusive media preview.

The Santro has been missed by many in India and now it is back. The all-new Santro will be a make in India car for the world and in a way the company has come full circle with the new Santro.

The car will be officially launched in New Delhi on 23 October 2018. Vignesh from the R&D centre of Hyundai said that the all-new Santro is specifically designed for Indian families keeping their needs in minds.

The new Santro is longer and wider with an increase in wheelbase when compared to the earlier Santro. Vignesh also added that the car has been designed keeping in mind the rear seat comfort. The all-new Santro will also sport a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

It will feature a four-cylinder 1.1-litre petrol motor with high fuel efficiency promise and 63PS of power. This will also be Hyundai’s first foray into AMT which they call as Smart Auto AMT. Hyundai will also be offering a factory fitted CNG option with the new Santro. The car will also have a 135cc AC compressor which promises a cool cabin always and also a segment first rear vents for passengers. Hyundai is claiming that this will be the best in class AC inside a car.

The overall design theme of the all-new Santro has been done keeping in mind the modern 2018 design theme that also features Hyundai’s signature cascade grille with chrome surrounds. It does project a modern appeal and a refreshing design language when it comes to an entry-level vehicle in the country.

To top it all, Hyundai will be offering a 3 year/1,00,000 km warranty and roadside assistance with the all-new Santro. The bookings for the all-new Santro will be 100% online starting from 10 October 2018 till 22 October 2018 at a price of Rs 11,100 for the first 50,000 customers as an introductory offer.
